Driving in Liverpool is a little bit like driving elsewhere in the UK, with the following exceptions:
-
It is compulsory to go through a traffic light that has only just changed from amber to red. Normally 3 or 4 cars can easily get through a freshly changed red light. Drivers behind you will beep and get angry if you don't obey this rule.
-
Parking on double yellow lines is perfectly acceptable especially if you're just "nipping in the shop". It is also ok to park on a junction. Or a bus stop.
-
Driving while speaking on your mobile phone is not against the law.
-
Road tax, valid drivers license, insurance and valid MOT are all optional. Having bald tyres is absolutely compulsory.
